"I grew up in a very athletic sand sports-oriented family. At young ages, my sisters and I were always involved in competitive sports like soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and tennis. In college, I continued to challenge my body with long-distance running and continue to run marathons to this date. That being said, I was looking for a new challenge for my body that would provide me with more strength and flexibility than I was receiving with my running and weight-training routine. I had also turned thirty-something and began seeing changes in areas of my body that I didn't like. That's when I found out about Body Balance Movement Therapy. I had taken a mat class a few years earlier, and had enjoyed it, but had never used the pilates apparatus. After trying the machines I never looked back. The pilates method has totally transformed my body. For me, it wasn't about weight loss, but toning and flexibility. I now have a long, lean and healthy-looking body. It all happened very quickly with private and semi-private equipment sessions and, within a month, my husband and friends were commenting on the beautiful changes that were taking place."

"Without a doubt, I have enjoyed my experience with Pilates and Gyrotonic®, both on the mat and with the equipment. My biggest problem is that I don't have time to squeeze in more sessions! I find all of the instructors at Body Balance to be very knowledgeable. Visiting the studio is always a very pleasant experience, no matter how down-in-the-dumps I am feeling before I arrive. I always feel so much better after my session, which is great testimony for both my mind and body benefiting from pilates and Gyrotonic. Now that I am in my 60s, both pilates and Gyrotonic have enabled me to reclaim the body that I had in my 30s. It is stronger and even better aligned now than I remember it being back then!
